It is pretty easy to make an ID photo. You can get 6 of them on a 4x6 print (the US requirement is 2x2).
- Take picture. Have light behind you so you don't get shadows. Have a white background. Even lighting. Don't zoom in too much.
- Upload picture to www.idphoto4you.com
- Select US and passport photo. Print size is single photo (you will be loading it somewhere else for multiple photos)
- Press the Upload button. It will locate your head and crop it to the proper size.
- Click Make Photo. Wait the time they give you to read all their ads.
- Click the little download text (under your pictures). The other download buttons do something else. It is very confusing.
- Save the photo somewhere.
- Open the photo in a photo editing (you can skip this part and crop it at the next website)
- Crop the photo so you just have your head and save it.
- Upload this cropped picture to www.makepassportphoto.com
- Do any cropping
- Click Finish
- Click the blue download button (again the other download buttons take you somewhere else)
- Save your pictures on your computer. There will be 3 across and 2 down.
- Send to your local photo printing place. 6 pictures for under 20 cents
The state department also has a nice tool to create a picture. It is at
http://travel.state.gov/content/passports/english/passports/photos/photos.html.
They also describe what to do to take a picture, such as background and color.
Another site that does this, but give you 4 pictures and an advertisement is ePassportPhoto.com
